Update

Unfortunately sewing has taken a back seat to the holidays so won't be able to get everything up and running until the new year. I have been sewing a lot of gifts but no time for the business start-up. Hopefully things will quiet down soon!

Trent's Backpack

Here is the final product for Trent's backpack, done just in time for Special Meetings. Sallie was sweet and sent me down her firefighter fabric as I couldn't find any in all the stores down here. So, Trenton got his firefighter backpack - got to be like Daddy!

Back to Sewing

Finished Emma's special meeting backpack and now have to get started on Trenton's. I think it will make a good diaper bag at full size. Probably won't get the trial one completed until after special meetings as we have company and workers coming this weekend and next week. Anyway, this will give an idea of what it will look like. The diaper bag will have bottle pockets on each side of the exterior as well as a larger pocket on the front.

Break from Bags

Just for fun I made myself a towel apron. When I give the babies a bath I'll be all ready for splashing! It is made out of an old bath towel and left over material. I had just enough!

Coming Soon... The Backpack Diaper Bag

It seems like it is taking forever to get things up and running. Since I intend to sell, I can't use any of my purchased patterns so everything has to be changed and tweaked a bit to create my own designs. Plus, being new to sewing, I am learning as I go, especially playing with all the different types of fabric (brocades are beautiful but a little slippery to work with.) I recently got a backpack pattern and am in the process of turning it into a diaper bag. I am learning to quilt both straight line and free hand, so the bags can even be quilted if preferred. I do have several projects in the works but will try to get one done for viewing asap. One of the projects I am working on are half size backpacks for the twins for special meetings next month. Any Moms interested in these diaper bags, if you have older daughters I can make matching kids bags. Thanks for the patience as I get things together!

Finally Completed

Between lots of company, the bathroom project, sick kids, and all the daily chores, I finally finished the brocade bag. I think I have a good system down and so now want to get opinions on the marketability of these bags. I am almost finished with the backpack diaper bag pattern so should be able to get an example of that up soon. Once the bathroom is done, Bill can watch the kids for me so I can really get some work done! Can't wait!

First Sewing Class

I finally broke and begged Bill to watch the babies for a couple nights so I could take a basic sewing class. It was a great starter class as it showed how to do tons of different things; buttonholes, topstitching, zippers, decorative stitches, and quilting - both straight and freehand. Here is the project we made.

Diaper Bag Sets

These pictures show the diaper bags and accessaries that will be available either as a set or individually. Shown in the pictures are the bag, diaper clutch, pacifier pouch, and changing pad. The bags themselves can be used as totes or diaper bags. I have one more pattern to test as a possible third style of diaper bag/tote.

Oriental Brocade Diaper Bag in Progress

This diaper bag will be the same look as the first. The turquoise will be the tie. Can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Navy Bag in Progress

This bag is a differnet style and will look more like a tote bag. Will get the finished product up as soon as it is completed.

Diaper Bag

Diaper bag with 2 interior bottle pockets, 3 interior pouch pockets, 1 interior zipper pocket, and 1 exterior diaper pad pocket. Will include matching changing pad, pacifier pouch, quick grab diaper clutch, and wallet.
